Bookmarked 2025 Week 4

How has your week been? What have you been reading lately? Sadly, I have not been reading much, but I’m in the middle of Witchcraft for Wayward Girls, Grady Hendrix, which I’m thoroughly enjoying. I’m actually sneaking this post in last minute as I’m on vacation in Jamaica for the next week. Now on to the 10+ bookish links I bookmarked recently.

one+ Oprah’s 110th book club selection is A New Earth, Eckhart Tolle. It’s a repeat book selection, as Oprah also selected this for her book club back in 2008. This is one I haven’t read, but I did read her 109th pick recently, Small Things Like These, Claire Keegan, and it was an ntense but enjoyable novella. Here’s a look at many of the Celebrity Book Club Picks for January 2025.

two+ Preseident Barack Obama shares a list of favorite book usually in the summer and at the end of the year. Here’s Pres. Obama’s Favorite Books of 2024 (and fave movies).

three+ It seems audiobooks are having a moment, so get with it 🙂 Here’s Libro.fm Most Anticipated Audiobooks of 2025. From this list, I plan on listening to Onyx Storm, Rebecca Yarros, since that’s how I experienced the other 2 books in the series. And of course, Thousands of romantasy fans make midnight dates with new Rebecca Yarros novel. I saw the book in the airport bookshop a few days before publishing but I suppose it must be the joy of being with fellow fans why you’d be up at midnight instead of pre-ordering it.

four+ And since we’re on the topic of new and upcoming books. Here’s The Millions: The Great Winter 2025 Preview and Amazon’s Most Anticipated of Winter and Spring 2025: Fiction

five+ These were the bestselling books of 2024. The top 3 are The Women, Kristin Hannah – A Court of Thorn & Roses, Sarah J. Maas (loved this!) and The Scarlet Shedder (Dog Man #12), Dav Pilkey (I hadn’t heard of this, but I’m not into graphic novels … at least not yet).

six+ I came across Why I STRONGLY prefer my Kindle Reader to the Kindle App, and thought about how I read. For eBooks, I read via the Kindle app on my phone and I LOVE it! Now I have a Samsung Z Fold 5 – so the phone folds out to give a pretty big screen and it’s been amazing for reading eBooks. I have one device – a phone and an eReader and since I travel lots, that’s 1 less device to carry around.

seven+ I would love to keep a reading journal, but alas, time does not permit me to invest the time. But I do love looking at them and wishing, like this 2024 Reading Journal Flip Through (YouTube) and this 2025 Reading Journal.

eight+ Jumpstart Your 2025 Reading Log with These Short Books has some novella recommendations that I added to my reading list.

nine+ In case you missed it, I posted about The 2025 Reading Challenges I’m Doing and Kim shared 3 Winter Thrillers That Will Freeze Your Heart!

ten+ Off the Books – I finished watching American Primeval and what a gritty, bloody show about the mid-West. And that ending – jeez! I’m now watching The Night Agent S2 and loving it! I’m looking forward to many of the shows on Here’s Your 2025 Literary Film & TV Preview. What are you watching?
