Bookmarked 2025 Week 10

March 7, 2025

How has your week been? What have you been reading lately? I finally finished Death of the Author, Nnedi Okorafor which was so good, and No Gods No Monsters, Cadwell Turnbull which was a hot mess. I didn’t conenct with it at all. But now on to the 10+ bookish links I bookmarked recently.

one+ Hello March! It’s Women’s History Month, so check out Women’s History Month Audiobook Recommendations – Memoirs & Biographies of Women Who Have Changed the World.

two+ Also, it’s March Mystery Madness and Middle Grade March if you want to participate in a reading challenge for the month – or just want to read according to the themes.

three+ At the beginning of the month we always get a fresh crop of “new book releases to read”. The Goodreads Editors Share Their Book Picks for March and Readers’ Most Anticipated Books for March. Plus the Best books of March 2025, as chosen by the Amazon Editors. Which new release are you most looking forward to? For me, it’s Sunrise on the Reaping (Hunger Games 0.5), Suzanne Collins.

four+ Author Ottessa Moshfegh wrote ten short stories for a Prada campaign! I haven’t read them yet, but they are saved to my reading list. Are short stories having a moment? Because I feel myself drawn to reading more of them.

five+ I love seeing interviews with readers. The latest -> Book Date No. 12.

six+ Have you read any of BookTok’s Most Loved Books: The Ultimate Reading List? I’m not on TikTok but I’ve read a few of the books listed including The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Taylor Jenkins Reid and Circe, Madeline Miller, both of which I also loved.

seven+ Amen to Taking the “Shoulds” Out of Reading. Be unapologetic when communicating the types of books you like to read and take no f$%%s when someone tries to tell you what you should and should not be reading … or even what “counts” as reading.

eight+ Literary Hub’s inaugural Ides of March Madness bracket:
The Best Villains in Literature
. Voting is now open for your favorite villains in literature. There’s different rounds of voting and the first round is O’Brien from 1984, George Orwell vs. General Woundwort (Watership Down, Richard Adams).

nine+ The 2025 Women’s Prize for Fiction Longlist has been announced. The 2025 Tournament of Books has started! And the winners of the 2025 Audie Awards has been announced, along with The winners of the 2025 Libby Book Awards.

ten+ Off the Books …. What are you watching? I haven’t been able to get into much. Maybe something from the Year’s Biggest Book-to-Screen Adaptations may tempt me.

In case you missed it, we’ve redesigned the site to show more on the front page, and this week we shared the March 2025 Motif Reading Challenge Check-In and March 2025 Motif Reading Challenge Check-In. Plus Kim had her birthday on March 1st and shared 3 Books I Bought with my Birthday Gift Card!

—- Cheers to the weekend and week ahead!
