Bookmarked 2024 Week 15

What did you read this week? I continued reading the novellas nominated for this year’s Nebula Awards with Untethered Sky, Fonda Lee, which was really good. I also finished The Mystery Guest (The Maid #2), Nita Prose – another awesome read, although I will say I enjoyed the first book in the series more. Here’s 10+ bookish links I came across this week.

one+ Are you ready for Dewey’s Readthon this weekend? Sat. Apr. 13th – 8AM EST to Apr. 14th 8AM EST?! Loved the pre-reading bingo and photo challenge which helped get me in the mood to want to participate.

two+ I haven’t been keeping up with celebrity book clubs, but going off of these 168 of the Most Recent Celebrity Book Club Picks, it looks like a few of my reading choices are in line with Read With Jenna and Oprah.

three+ I don’t go to many in person bookish events, but reading through A guide to the people you run into at every reading, I decided I’m probably the big fan AND the partier … The Partier will be the person asking where you should all go next and trying to figure out if there’s a way to do shots in the non-fiction section of a bookstore.

four+ It was interesting looking at these Seven Cover Redesigns and seeing whether I preferred the new or old design. Go leave a comment with your thoughts.

five+To Eight of the Most Unlikely Amateur Sleuths in Fiction I would add Agatha Christie’s housekeeper in the Phyllida Bright series. Any of your faves make the list?

six+ For a change of pace, I’ve been loving Vampire Month at Me&Ink – especially 75 Vampire Books For Your TBR.

seven+ I was surprised at the recommendation in The Best Order To Read Sarah J Maas’ Books but the reasoning is on point. I still have to

eight+ I was nodding my head yes to almost all of the Top Ten Signs You’re a Mood Reader. Are you one too?

nine+ The six-title shortlist for the 2024 International Booker Prize has been announced. “It features work from six countries, translated from six languages into English and published in the UK or Ireland., and ‘interweaves the intimate and political in radically original ways’”

ten+ This week at Book Riot, they had a Genre Blend Day, where they shared lots of posts featuring books that blend genres. And we also wrote this week about 4 Genre Recommendations for the 2024 Book Riot Read Harder Reading Challenge.

Have a great weekend!
